Apolla Socks are compression socks for women and men, though some men may not be used to close-fitting garments and may think they feel too tight. They are made to provide a snug, supportive fit, which is what helps deliver effective support and relief. It is normal for these compression stockings to feel tight at first, especially if graduated compression socks are new to you. However, they should not feel painful or limit your circulation.

If the fit feels uncertain, check our size chart. When you are between sizes, we generally suggest sizing up. You can also review our size chart for women’s compression socks. We offer free exchanges, so you can test another size if needed.

Our high-compression socks may take a little practice to put on at first, but these tips can help:

  • Inside Out: Turn the sock inside out up to the heel.
  • Toe First: Slide your toes all the way in.
  • Gradual Pull: Carefully pull the sock over your heel and up the leg, smoothing it as you go. Still stuck? Watch the how-to videos on this page.

If the tips and tricks still do not work, email us at apollasocks@gmail.com. We may need to help you find a different size or a profile that is easier to don. Remember, we offer free exchanges and returns. If we cannot find an exchange for you, we will send a label for a free return.

It depends on the Apolla Sock style. Many of our styles, especially our compression socks, are designed to be worn with shoes, including everyday shoes or dance shoes, for added comfort and support. Some, such as the Performance Sock, are ideal for athletic shoes and daily wear. Others, like our open-toe Joule, work well with sandals or open-toe shoes.

If you want a no-show sock with plantar fasciitis sock support and ankle support, the AMP is a strong option that can be worn discreetly with most closed-toe shoes. We also offer compression leg warmers that pair with any shoe or Apolla Sock and are wonderful for aching legs or knees.

For a more detailed guide to which Apolla Sock style suits different types of footwear, review our Sock Finder Quiz or our Style Guide.

Is it a sock or a Shock? Let us explain the confusion. Dancers call the dance sock version SHOCKS because they feel like the benefits of a SHOe with the comfort of a soCK. With the optional grip, they can easily replace dance footwear. For everyone else, they are simply the best compression socks in the world. Although we started with dancers, you may see both “Shocks” and “socks”; they mean the same thing and are not a typo.

Apolla Socks are designed to be supportive and comfortable, but early discomfort can happen, especially if compression socks are new for you or if your feet are sensitive.

Here are a few things to check:

Sizing: Make sure you are wearing the correct size. Refer to our size chart. If you fall between sizes, we usually recommend sizing up, especially for women’s compression socks. Socks that are too tight can cause pain and restrict circulation.

Gradual Introduction: If you are not used to compression, begin with shorter wear times and slowly increase them as your feet adjust.

Underlying Conditions: If you have a pre-existing foot issue such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, or neuropathy, your feet may be more sensitive. We recommend checking with your doctor or a podiatrist to make sure Apolla Socks are right for you.

Specific Style: Some styles with higher compression levels may feel more intense. Try another Apolla Sock profile with a lower compression level, such as the Performance Sock or the AMP.

Remember, we offer free exchanges and returns! If pain or discomfort continues, contact our customer support team at apollasocks@gmail.com. We are happy to help you find a solution that works.

First, confirm you are wearing the correct size by checking our size chart. If your socks are too loose, you may not feel the full benefit of the compression. If you are between sizes, sizing up is often better, especially for women’s compression socks.

Remember that everyone experiences compression differently. Some people feel an instant “wow” moment, while others notice more subtle benefits that build over time. Give them a few days or even a week of consistent wear to see how your body responds. You may notice gradual improvements in comfort, reduced swelling, or less fatigue. Pay attention to how your feet and legs feel during and after your regular activities. You may notice a difference in performance, recovery time, or pain levels, especially if you deal with plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendonitis.

If you still do not notice a difference after a week or two, please contact our customer support team at apollasocks@gmail.com. We will be happy to help troubleshoot or send a label for a free exchange or return.
