A Complimentary, Whole-Person Learning Course for Dance Parents, Educators & Dancers.
Apolla is committed to supporting dancers both in the studio and beyond it. That commitment inspired the StEPS Initiative (Studios for Equity, Prevention, and Science), a free educational program created to encourage safe, healthy dance spaces for everyone.
The 2020 StEPS Initiative
The program first launched to help dance studios through difficult circumstances, offering financial support while asking studio owners to complete a thoughtfully selected course focused on essential subjects:
- Equity and Racism in Dance
- Prevention of Sexual Abuse
- Dance Medicine and Science, including injury prevention, the value of appropriate footwear such as compression socks, dance socks and dance shoes, and awareness of common concerns such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis
- Gender Equity
- Dance Integration
- Nutrition for Dancers
After recognizing its value as a professional-development resource, we made the StEPS course FREE and available to everyone!
