Dancing + Floor Exercise
Ideal for any dance style, inside dance shoes or in place of them. They help lower overuse injury risk, support injury recovery, and can be made with grip when you need it.
We call it the “WOW MOMENT.” It is the instant you slide them on, sigh, “Ahhhhmazing!” and immediately notice how different your feet feel. You have never experienced support quite like this before.
It can feel like remarkable relief for sore feet and puffy ankles when discomfort is tied to inflammation.
We are also honored that the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance recognizes Apolla for innovative, earth-conscious designs that blend the benefit of a SHoe with the comfort of a sOCK, which is why dancers often call them SHOCKS.
Keep moving down the page to explore the technology behind socks designed to be among the best in the world.
This page is for anyone who likes to nerd out with us and dig into the theory, science, and research-based design behind Apolla Socks. We explain why they stand out in compression footwear and why they simply WORK.
What it does: Targeted 20–30 mmHg compression gently lifts and steadies the arch, giving a supported feeling similar to an orthotic while still allowing natural movement.
Why it matters: This approach can help with pain relief, injury prevention, swelling reduction, improved stability, and more confident movement. It also supports the idea of biotensegrity, where tension and compression work together across the body.
What it does: Strategic compression zones support the ankle like a soft brace or tape application, but without limiting your natural range of motion.
Why it matters: Brace-like support paired with graduated compression can help lower ankle injury risk, improve proprioception, and support faster recovery by reducing swelling and discomfort.
What it does: Built-in padding behaves like tiny shock absorbers under the foot, softening impact and reducing stress through the ankle, knee, hip, and spine.
Why it matters: Reducing force at the foot can help protect joints, support the kinetic chain, and keep movement feeling more comfortable and energized.
What it does: Apolla’s patented targeted compression goes beyond a tight fit by placing support zones through the foot, ankle, and calf to encourage circulation and reduce inflammation.
Why it matters: The design is built to optimize circulation, support performance, and give the lower body a recovery boost inside everyday footwear.
Patented arch support gently raises and steadies your arches, giving your feet the structure they need.
This support helps prevent and ease foot pain, including plantar fasciitis, while reducing swelling and supporting blood flow.
Targeted compression supports the ankle with a brace-like feel while keeping your movement free.
This stabilizing support can help reduce ankle injury risk and support recovery by easing swelling and pain.
Padded zones cushion each step, helping reduce impact and stress on your joints.
The cushioning protects joints, helps prevent pain, and keeps you feeling energized so you can stay active longer.
Patented compression supports circulation, helps reduce inflammation, and assists in clearing soreness-causing byproducts.
It supports recovery, reduces pain and swelling, and helps you perform well while bouncing back faster.
Why did they receive this distinction? We created an earth-friendly premium sock that delivers the benefit of a shoe with the comfort of a sock.
Foot injuries are common among dancers, and researchers have explored protective methods that may reduce how often they occur. Prior work has often focused on ballet, but foot injuries are also common in modern and contemporary dance, where footwear is usually not worn. Padded dance socks may be a solution, yet the amount of force reduction they provide was unknown.
Purpose: This study examined how much padded dance support socks could reduce force on the foot during a dance sequence and when landing from a sauté jump.
Methods: Twenty-one injury-free dancers volunteered for a randomized cross-over design study. Participants completed a 40-second modern dance sequence and a sauté jump landing while wearing Apolla Performance Shock™ dance socks and while barefoot.

Ideal for any dance style, inside dance shoes or in place of them. They help lower overuse injury risk, support injury recovery, and can be made with grip when you need it.
For desk days, long shifts, and people on their feet, modern life can demand a lot from the legs. Apolla helps legs feel more refreshed and gives added stamina for long days.
Training can place stress on the body, but switching your socks can support performance, reduce soreness, and help avoid injury. The yarn is moisture-wicking and resists odor.
After activity, athletes often feel temporary performance drops from muscle fatigue, DOMS, shin splints, swelling, and smaller injuries. Compression support can help recovery feel easier.
Whether you are on the court, trail, or gym floor, compression socks can provide support, stability, and a recovery lift that helps you move at your best.
Targeted compression can help support recovery after ankle sprains, surgery, or similar injuries by encouraging blood flow and helping reduce swelling.
