What started as an answer to the staggering injury rates in dance has grown into a worldwide movement, helping people from every walk of life do more of what they love.

Key Milestones Along Our Journey

2014: The First Leap

Best friends and new moms sit together on a beach and decide to take a chance on an idea to change the staggering injury rates in the dance world with stronger ankle support and plantar fasciitis solutions.

2015: Testing & Learning

We prototyped by hand, surveyed over 50 testers, learned the manufacturing process for women’s compression socks in the US, studied the research, and designed every feature needed to create a truly effective product.

2016: We Go Live!

We began presales in early 2016 and launched sales on our website in August. We were honored to become the footwear of choice for Emmy & Tony-nominated choreographer Sonya Tayeh’s dance symphony, You’ll Still Call Me By Name.

2018: Chosen by the Pros

We kept growing and were proud to see top professional dancers and athletes benefit from our products. From So You Think You Can Dance pros and choreographers to Boston Ballet and hockey pros, Apolla became a go-to for high compression socks and dance socks.

2020: Researched + Certified

We knew Apolla socks worked, but wanted independent sources to prove it. We were proud to be used in a research study by Ohio University and shown to be effective in reducing force. We also received the American Podiatric Medical Association’s Seal of Acceptance.

2021: By Community Demand

We could not keep Apolla Socks a secret any longer. We worked hard to make Apolla Socks accessible to everyone, helping people from all walks of life do more of what they love with less pain.

2022: Shark Tank

After a year of hustling, pivoting, and rebranding our company, we appeared on Shark Tank on April 1st!
